What’s Interesting About This Concert
- If you’re looking to be dazzled at every turn, this is the concert for you! A concerto (pronounced con-CHAIR-toe) is a piece of music written for soloist(s) accompanied by an orchestra or other ensemble. Basically, it’s a chance for a virtuoso musician to show off what they can do while the rest of the orchestra backs them up, and this ConcertoFest! is packed with virtuoso soloists…
- Violinist Jasmine Lin returns to the Elmhurst Symphony after her most recent, stellar performance with the orchestra in 2019.
- Brandon Acker makes his solo debut with the Elmhurst Symphony playing the theorbo, a plucked string instrument in the lute family and a distant cousin of the modern guitar.
- Finally, Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra musicians Naomi Bensdorf Frisch (oboe) and Andrew Nogal (oboe) join guest concertmaster Emi Tanabe (violin) and step into the soloist spotlight for this exciting program!
