The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra is an ensemble of professionals and accomplished volunteer community musicians. Rehearsals take place Wednesday evenings from 7:30–10:00pm with additional rehearsals scheduled for concert weekends.
We provide musicians the opportunity to perform under the direction of our outstanding conductor, Stephen Alltop, surrounded by the impressive talent of both professional and accomplished volunteer players. Plus spectacular collaborations with a wealth of guest performers and groups allow us to offer a diverse repertoire and the chance to perform alongside both up-and-coming artists and highly acclaimed talent.
String players interested in joining the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra as volunteer community musicians should contact our Orchestra Manager at audition@elmhurstsymphony.org. Please be sure to specify which string instrument you play when emailing.
Interested parties should prepare one movement of a concerto or sonata and 3-4 excerpts of their choice.
Auditions for professional positions are scheduled as needed and/or as openings become available.
To be considered as a substitute musician, please email a resume to our Orchestra Manager at sublist@elmhurstsymphony.org.
The Elmhurst Symphony Association has no vacant positions at this time.
