What You'll Hear

What’s Interesting

  • George Gershwin is the American composer who dressed Jazz in a tuxedo and took it to symphony concert halls around the world. This concert opens with Gershwin’s musical depiction of Paris in the roaring 20s, including honking taxi cabs!
  • This program features music by African American composer Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, and pianist Sylvia Wang will dazzle and delight with Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm Variations.
  • Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition (orchestrated by French composer Maurice Ravel) will bring the 2024/2025 Elmhurst Symphony season to a brassy and brilliant conclusion.
