Andrew Garratt

Baritone



Biography

Heralded as a singer possessing “rich timbre and earnest delivery” by the Chicago Classical Review, Andrew Garratt is a lyric Baritone in the Chicago area. He recently received his Master's degree in Opera at Northwestern University under the precise instruction of W. Stephen Smith. He received his undergraduate degree from Western Washington University, where he studied with Seattle Opera Head Coach, Jay Rozendaal. During his undergraduate degree he saw the stage as: Pluto in Orpheus in the Underworld, Jessie in Slow Dusk, and Harry Easter in Street Scene. He performed with the celebrated MET Tenor William Lewis in the FAVA 2022 production of Die Fledermaus as Herr Frank. In the summer of 2023, Andrew was employed at Sun Valley Opera to put on a recital for their celebrated Summer Concert Series. In his graduate degree he saw the stage as The Loudspeaker in Der Kaiser von Atlantis, Gaudenzio in Il Signor Bruschino, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, The Vicar/Mr. Gedge in Albert Herring, and Baron Zeta in The Merry Widow.
