Cellist Carolyn Rundell gave us the scoop on her involvement with the ESO and how she got started...

How long have you played with ESO?

Since 2000.

What instrument do you play and how did you gravitate to that instrument?

I play cello. I first played violin but I enjoyed the lower tones of cello so I switched.

What piece is on your bucket list to play with ESO and why?

We recently played The Planets. It was such a great showcase of instruments and talents among the orchestra.

Biography

I began playing in the grade school orchestra in Glen Ellyn and I studied with Jeanne Johannesen growing up.  After graduating from Glenbard West, I attended Illinois State University and University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point where I studied music and education.  After graduation, I rejoined the Elmhurst Symphony in 2007.  I continued my studies in both dental hygiene and special education, and I currently enjoy a mixed career of both dentistry and working with students in the Darien public schools.
